How many of us are creatures of habit? We like what we like when we like it, right?! I'm definitely one who can get stuck in the same routine for weeks on end, especially if I'm super busy. I will do the same workout/yoga class or eat the same thing for lunch or just lose motivation all together because I'm so bored with the monotony. The most challenging part can be getting yourself out of the rut or same routine because it feels so comfortable. Usually it's easier than trying something completely foreign and being afraid of failure or disappointment. But by not branching out, you limit yourself. You close yourself off and prevent growth, change and new opportunities!
So when I found myself in a rut recently when it came to teaching and obtaining new clients, I decided it was time for a change! I needed fresh, new ideas and I was only go to find that by stepping out of my comfort zone! I decided to start taking new yoga classes at studios I usually don't frequent. Almost instantly, I saw my creative juices start to flow again. I've also met new, potential clients and contacts that can help me continue to develop my career. Keep in mind, even though I haven't loved every single class I've taken, I've made sure to go in with an open mind and open heart. I've told myself this is what I need in this moment, so go with the flow and see what happens. In turn, I've learned alot about myself and my own personal limitations and fears.
I encourage you to do the same and step out of your comfort zone! Whether it has to do with your workout routine, career, relationships or hobby, just try or do something you normally wouldn't! Face the fear, because just on the other side of fear is everything we've ever wanted! :)
Namaste,
